Hardware Review: Jawbone 2

When it comes to accessories for my iPhone, my absolute favorite has got to be a bluetooth headset.
And when it comes to bluetooth headsets my absolute favorite has got to be the Jawbone 2. The Jawbone 2 has some amazing features that are sure to please any consumer willing to spend the money...

This amazing piece of hardware came to me by way of a great deal. Browsing the Best Buy store (as I often do) led me to a sale on the designer earpiece that I just couldn't pass up. Originally $130.00 US, the sale brought it down to just at $100.00. Luckily, I had some Reward Zone coupons available for the using via my new MacBook and felt that this was a purchase worthy of their use. I must say that I am extremely pleased and will probably never try another bluetooth accessory again. Smaller in size that the original Jawbone, this new and improved model sure packs a punch! With it's patented "noise assassin" technology, using this piece of hardware in the car, in a busy terminal, or even in a room filled with people, is an enjoyable experience. The one stipulation to use is that a small rubber "bud" is actually touching your jaw when worn. This bud is the secret to their technology. When talking the vibrations from your jawbone activate the receiver to send out a clear message. When the device is not activated, it shuts off the receiver and therefore lessens the background noise for the recipient.

"Touching your jaw? But, I've had so many problems with my other bluetooth devices, how is it ever going to stay?" Not a problem my friend. Again the Jawbone 2 excels where the Jawbone left off. The fit is phenomenal. Whether you have ears like an elf, or Dumbo, this earpiece will fit snug, and be be comfortable for extended wear due to it's array of interchangeable inner ear buds, and outer ear hooks. I hardly even realize I'm wearing it half the time.

The aesthetics are pleasing to the eye and are extremely functional. The entire contoured face of the device is a button. Actually two buttons. Towards the middle of the device the button controls the power, answering, and ending; and on the rear edge, pressing the plate turns on and off the noise assassin technology, which is on by default. (Why would you turn it off again??)
Five quick presses on the power area turns the LED on of off depending on your preference.

My favorite new addition to the Jawbone 2? The magnetic charging area on the rear side. A clear step up from the fumbling around I had to do to get the charger on the original Jawbone model. (Wonder where they got the idea Apple... Can anyone say "magsafe"?)

Quick take: Extremely well-made device that is easy to wear, easy to use, easy to charge. Eee bluetooth anyone?
I give this product a solid five stars and would gladly pay full price now having tried it. I hope my experience makes your decision an easier one.
