App Review: Hellfire

Price: $4.99

Ok, so I'm going to start off by saying that I'm not a big game fanatic. I don't play XBox, Wii, Playstation... none of it. So when asked to do a game review I felt a bit uneasy as to how to go about it. Keep reading!

Hell fire was very entertaining. The graphics were good. The gameplay was smooth. The learning curve was low. The object of the game is to fly around in your helicopter and blow stuff up. Fun stuff. Someone into games will be extremely pleased with what this game has to offer. The controls were some of the easiest to handle of any game on the iphone. They are straightforward, tilt to move and fly forward and backward, even hover in one place. A slider on the left side controls height. Buttons on the right are your guns, one to shoot, the other to switch between artillery; a small display lets you know what and how many. Info is displayed on the top with a mini map to help you find your way.

As I began to play I was happy to find out that there was an object to the game, or missions rather, that you were to accomplish. I believe the first was to destroy enemy territory and rescue your troops. The second had something to do with enemy tanks. There are tons of missions and it will easily keep you entertained for hours. The weapons available, as far as I could tell were regular turret guns, straight-on missiles, and some type of sidewinders. My favorite part was the fully automatic firing some guns boasted. The bad thing about the game was that at times I felt like I was flying forever without seeing any action. For someone who wants quick gameplay and easy to understand dynamics, this game is for you. I was overall pleased with it and even I, who doesn't play games, will probably keep it around to load up from time to time...
